About Us

Randy Houston grew up around the industry of heating, air conditioning and plumbing. As a kid, he worked alongside his grandfather who was a licensed master plumber and A/C contractor. His grandfather taught him that "we don't work for customers, we work for our friends." Even at a young age, Randy enjoyed the work and came to realize he was very good at it.

Years later, Randy went to work full time performing heating, cooling and plumbing service for homes, offices, and apartments.

Then, in 2008, Randy began focusing on commercial and industrial refrigeration in the Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas areas, then later returning to the Lubbock area to be closer to his family. Over the next 10 years, he honed his skills in the HVACR field repairing ice machines, walk in coolers, freezers, and many other types of refrigeration equipment. Working in all kinds of environments from processing plants, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, and schools.

In 2018, Randy took on a role working with a local franchisee of a major fast food chain. His responsibilities included the repair and maintenance of the franchise's cooking and restaurant equipment, coolers, freezers, air conditioning, ice machines, and just about everything else.

The experience gained in almost 20 years of work in the HVAC and plumbing industry finally prepared Randy to begin his own company in March of 2020. Houston Mechanical Service was born in Lubbock, Texas.
